Research
Up one levelHere you will find information about each of our main research areas.
- Effects of Urbanization
- Our research addresses critical information gaps regarding the effects of urbanization on human and forest communities, particularly from a multi-disciplinary view that incorporates both social and ecological aspects.
- Human Dimensions
- This research area includes studies related to the economic value of goods and services provided by urban ecosystems, as well as issues related to recreation, social impacts of landscape change, relationships of migrant or immigrant populations to urban ecosystems, and environmental justice.
- Information Exchange
- One key focus of our research work unit is the development of technology transfer models, tools, and guidelines for natural resource professionals, policymakers and citizens to address and minimize risk due to changes from urbanization and other human influences on forest ecosystems
- WUI Fire
- Our WUI fire research is conducted in partnership with the University of Florida’s School of Forest Resources and Conservation and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
